On Wednesday March 9th, a group of Project Guuleysi West high students visited the Utah state capitol. In their ESL classes, they had been discussing the new laws up for debate in both the Utah Senate and House of Representatives. We were able to view the House of Representatives and the Senate in the last few days of their most recent session. Senator Luz Robles was kind enough to take a break from her Senate session to introduce herself to the students. She is the Senator for District 1 of Salt Lake City, which is the district that West High students reside in. It was a great experience for the students, and we hope to be able to do it again in the future!
